Greetings !

Pursuant to the EMB Memorandum Circular No. 2020-29 Section 3: Conduct of Online PCO and Managing Head Environmental Trainings in view of the measures adopted to combat COVID-19 and prohibition of mass gatherings and following the online requirements as prescribed by EMB, the Pollution Control Association of the Phils., Inc. Region VII (PCAPI-7) an accredited training provider for Pollution Control Officers (PCO) by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) is pleased to inform you that we will be conducting a 40-Hour Basic Pollution Control Officers Webinar Training Course in response to the need for the PCOs to be accredited as a mandatory requirement under DAO 2014-02 of the DENR-EMB or the Revised Guidelines for PCO Accreditation.

This online training as approved by DENR-EMB is designed to meet the requirements for accreditation and provide knowledge of environmental laws necessary to capacitate your PCO in complying different environmental laws enforced by EMB with the following details:

Please take note that this online training is limited to 100 pax only thus we will give out confirmed slots only to those who have registered online. We will accept registration until November 3 only or until the 100 slots are filled up whichever comes first. Those that will not be accommodated will be automatically reserved for the next schedule of the training.

1) Basic Qualifications:

  1. Filipino citizen, of legal age, with good moral character, and mentally and physically healthy;
  2. Full-time employee of the establishment where he/she is being appointed/ designated as PCO;
  3. Has completed the Basic PCO Training Course by an EMB-recognized training organization/institution within the last three (3) years.

2) Minimum Competency Requirement. Any of the following competency requirements shall be considered:

  1. For Category A establishments
    *Graduate of any related technical course
    *Had reached third year in tertiary level education
    *Had been with the establishment for at least three (3) years in a supervisory position or in a responsible position or equivalent experience.
  1. For Category B establishments
    *Licensed engineers/chemists with at least two (2) years relevant experience in environmental management
    *Professionals in the field of engineering or physical and natural sciences with at least three (3) years relevant experience in environmental management
    *Other professionals of appropriate discipline with at least five (5) years relevant experience in environmental management.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Guidelines

A. Pre-Registration:

  • – You are requested to pre-register using the google link provided in the invitation.
    (Note: make sure to have a google account to be able to sign-in)
    – Complete all required information and wait for the confirmation email to the Gmail address provided.
    – Attached an appropriate ID picture as this will be use your Completion and/or Attendance Certificate.
    – You are also requested to fill-in your expectations for the webinar
    – Zoom Webinar link is provided in Gmail received.
    – Download a Zoom Application in your device.
    – It is highly encouraged to use a laptop or desktop with web camera. You may encounter an interruption if you use your mobile phone as you receive phone calls and messages.
    – Please sign-in using the participant’s email address and full name. This will be the reference upon acceptance in the Zoom Webinar.
    – Only registered participant can join the webinar.
    – Please wait for the other information and training schedule reminder from PCAPI-7 secretariat. You may be requested to prepare documents such as permits for the workshops

B. Registration:

  • – At the start of every webinar day / session, you are required to register with the ZOOM link provided during the pre-registration.
    – You are also requested to enter the passcode provided in your Gmail confirmation.
    – Please wait to be accepted by the webinar host based on the registered full name.
    – Check the internet connectivity strength and available data especially for those using a pre-paid connection. Make sure to register for 1 week data connection.
    – Be familiar with the ZOOM application prior to the webinar especially in using external microphone and speaker. Check your ZOOM profile especially on the audio and video settings.

C. Requirements for Certificate of Completion:

  •  Criteria of the Certificate of Completion
    *In compliance with EMB Memorandum Circular No. 2020-29, we are required to strictly monitoring the attendance and should conduct a post test to evaluate the comprehension and learning of the participants
    *Complete attendance
    *At least 70% Passing Grade in the Post Test
  •  Attendance
    *Attendance is monitored through a timestamp / snap shot. You will be requested to open of video as we take your attendance. Otherwise, use the reaction icon at the bottom part of the ZOOM and click the stamp hand gesture.
    *There will be at least 3 attendance timestamps in the morning and afternoon sessions.
    *You will be reminded once you missed more than 50% of the timestamps.
    *For an excessive absences, you may be advised not to take the post test and re-take the topic/s missed in the next webinar schedule.
  •  Post-test with 70% Passing Rate
    *We strictly implement a 70% passing rate of the post test.
    *The online post test will be taken through google link.
    *Don’t worry you will still be given a chance to receive a Certificate of Completion by undergoing a revalida.
  •  The result of the post test will be release within 7 working days.
  •  The details for the revalida will be provided through email.

D. Webinar Proper

  •  Show up on time! Just like in real life. You may miss a lot already even in a few minutes.
    – We are taking the attendance before we begin the morning and afternoon session.
    – Please dress up appropriately. Just like in face a face training. Pls remember you are bringing the image of the organization you are representing.
    – Please be mindful of your surroundings as they be captured during the video and audio on.
    – All participants are muted as default. Only the Webinar Support can mute/unmute the participants.
    – In almost the duration of the webinar, you will be requested to turn-off your camera to maximize the internet connectivity. Wait for the time when the facilitator will request you to turn it on.
    – Q&A and interactions will be open after the end of the topic. Otherwise, requested by the speaker or facilitator.
    – Have your paper and pen available for you to take down your questions.
    -You may also use chat room as follows:
    * For concerns regarding the topic or related to PCO functions, laws and regulations, please chat to Webinar Support. We are taking down questions or concerns and go over it during the Q&A time
    * For ZOOM Webinar related concerns such as connectivity, viewing the presentation, audio and the like, please chat to Webinar Tech Support, and will attend to your need ASAP.
    – The chat is not for water cooler conversations. This is the online equivalent of talking in the back of the training room. It’s disruptive and may be flooded with messages.
     Wait your turn. If you want to speak, please click the reaction icon in the bottom and click the clap sign.
    – Wait to be recognized by the facilitator and the Webinar Support will unmute your microphone. Please say “I’m done” if you’re finish talking.
    – The live interactions and questions may be limited as we will also answer the questions raised through chat. We will try to answer all the questions in the chat but if time constrains, the facilitator will just read all the questions and we will answer them in other time within the training period or through email.
    – We will summarize all the questions and corresponding answers. Then, share it in our google classroom link together will all the copies of the training materials.
    – You have a few options on viewing the presentation of the speaker so that the live appearance on your screen will not distract you from the learning process.
    – You may choose from “view options” either “exit full screen” or “side-by-side mode”
    – Pre-test and post test will be through google link. Specific instructions will be discussed by the facilitator.
    – A completion certificate will be emailed to participants who passed within 7 working days upon completion of the 40- hours training.
    – Otherwise, you will receive a notification and be given a revalida through online.
    – Original copy of the Completion Certificate and official receipt may be requested for pick-up at PCAPI-7 Office, Unit 11-G, Avenir Condominium, Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City.
     Recording is Prohibited. Recording of the entire or a portion of the webinar is restricted and punishable by law under Republic Act 4200 – Anti-Wiretapping Law and Republic Act 10088 – Anti-Camcording Act of 2010
