ratification of PCAPI-7 Constitution and By-Laws in the Annual General Membership Meeting held at Sunburst, Cebu City.

1994

The association was registered to the Securities and Exchange Commission as Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc.-Region 7, PCAPI-7 for short”.

1997

September 5
PCAPI-7 had launched a City Integrated Management Program and Composting Project in Lapu-lapu City.

October 17
PCAPI-7 had supported an Anti-Smoke Belching Awareness Campaign in cooperation with Environmental Management Bureau.

Launched a Tree Planting Activity at IBO MEZ, Lapu-lapu City.

1999

PCAPI-7 enjoined USC High School Department in a Mural Painting Activity at Leon Kilat St.

2002

Jan 23-Feb
10-Day Capability Building Training Program on Environmental Monitoring through the sponsorship of KITA of Kitakyushu City.

2003

Creation of Metro Cebu Environmental Initiatives Council forging the vision of Environmental Sustainability which PCAPI-7 serving as secretariat. This is a partnership between EMB-7, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- Reg 7, NEDA-7, CUSW, LGU- Cebu City, LGU-Mandaue City, University of Cebu, Southwestern University and PCAPI-7.

PCAPI-7 developed a 7- module diploma course for Pollution Control Officers through the sponsorship of Canadian Initiatives Development Authority-PEARL 1 Project.

February
Launching of CIDA-PEARL Project 2, the Environmental Management System of Technical Educational Skills Development Authority spearheaded by PCAPI-7.

Feb-Dec
Ambient Air Quality Monitoring in 3 cities of Cebu namely Cebu City, Mandaue City and Lapu-Lapu City through the sponsorship of KITA.

 

2004

Hold for a on Clean Water Act and EUF System, Ecowatch, Self-Monitoring Report, Pollution Adjudication Board & Fines & Penalties, and Waste Water Discharge Fee.

PCAPI-7 has conducted various technical sessions. Among these are Environmental Compliance Inspection Course, Forum on Cleaner Production with DBP, Management of Hospital Wastes, Management of PCBs and Multi-Sectoral Forum on Ozone Depleting Substances with EMB-DENR.

June
Launched the 1st Cleaner Production Best Practices Recognition among industries in Region 7 thru a financial aid from DBP with the assistance of Cebu Chamber of Commerce and EMB-DENR.

2005

Launched the 25th year (Silver) Anniversary of PCAPI-7 at Montebello Hotel in conjunction with the recognition of Top 10 Industries with Cleaner Production Best Practices. Also recognition of members and leaders with great contribution to the organization.

Conducted Seminar and Tree Planting Project for Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City through a grant from KITA and AEON Foundation including Nursery Establishment with the local government and the community, University of Cebu and the Women’s group of the Barangay.

Conducted Pollution Control Officer’s training to Industry and LGU Environmental Officer of Dumaguete City, Philippines.

Conducted the 1st Webinar 40-Hour Basic PCO Training Course in view of the measures adopted to combat COVID-19 and prohibition of mass gatherings and in response to the need for the Pollution Control Officer (PCO) to be accredited as a mandatory requirement under DAO 2014-02 of the DENR-EMB or the Revised Guidelines for PCO Accreditation. This online training as approved by DENR-EMB was the first online training for PCO accreditation conducted in the entire region.
